Atlus, the company behind both the Persona & the Shin Megami Tensei series, has announced an upcoming game called Soul Hackers 2; a sequel to the 2013 3DS game, Devil Summoners: Soul Hackers!
Soul Hackers 2 is a JRPG game where a team must prevent Devil Summoners, humans with the ability to control demons, thanks to their Soul Hack abilities. These Devil Summoners might possibly be the key to Earth’s destruction, and it is up to the protagonists & their allies to stop them!
The turned-based battle system in Soul Hackers 2, based on the trailer, reminds me very well of the Persona series. In addition, each member will spend more time within various social scenes outside of the apocalyptic setting. That way, their bonds will strengthen, and will be able to use it to their advantage during combat.
Soul Hackers 2 will be available for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on August 26th, 2022! Check out the announcement trailer for it here!
